Its solo section provides opportunity for more advanced soloists to progress through the changes or equally effective, can be navigated more easily with exclusive use of the C Dorian scale. The shout chorus features juxtaposed measures without the rhythm section against measures with the full ensemble. Following the shout, your drummer is given a chance to shine as the drums trade solo measures with the full ensemble. Scored for full big band, it may also be played with limited instrumentation.
