Tonality Shifting Warm-Up for Developing Bands is a new edition of the original warm-ups but intended for bands at the middle school. It is a daily physical and mental routine preparing young groups for the demands a rehearsal. This edition contains an F-based long tone progression featuring major tonalities connected together by common tones. It teaches performers within the ensemble to make minute pitch adjustments in order to produce perfectly tuned chords. There is also a lip flexibility/articulation and a final short chorale. Excellent for preparing bands for the shifting tonalities characteristic of today’s young wind band literature.
