Here is another fantastic Lennie Niehaus arrangement as recorded by the Stan Kenton Orchestra on “The Stage Door Swings” Album. This was the “missing link” from that album. Now we have all of those charts in print! The baritone saxophone and bass sets up the foundation for the exhilarating latin themed sections the Kenton Band was so well known for, while the swing sections cook along with wonderful background writing behind an alto saxophone solo which leads to a sensational shout chorus and sax soli.
