These three movements: La Rejouissance, Sarabande and Gigue, are taken from Telemann’s seven-movement Suite in D, originally composed for trumpet and orchestra. An excellent introduction to late Baroque style playing for intermediate students, featuring contrasting tempos, dotted rhythms, and compound time signatures in playable first position.
