Mark’s passion is playing jazz.  He can help in all areas and has been running the store for over 17 years.  He attended the University of Tulsa with a music scholarship and obtained a business major, then went for his MBA at University of North Carolina Wilmington.  He plays saxophone with the Route  66 jazz band and clarinet with the Meramec Community Concert Band. He handles all administrative and financial matters and has a good knowledge of all areas of music literature.

Cindy Schellenberg – Shipping and Receiving 

Mark’s wife and right hand woman keeps outgoing orders organized and running smoothly. Cindy earned a Bachelor of Music Education with an emphasis in flute, from the University of Tulsa. In fact, this is where Mark and Cindy met.  She taught band several years in Oklahoma and St. Louis. She assists with the Community Music School’s Flute Camp each summer. Currently she plays flute and piccolo with the Meramec Symphonic and University City Summer bands.

Jeff Girard – Wind Band and Instrumental specialist 

Jeff Girard is a wind band conducting specialist who has been working with wind band literature for 20 years now. He’s particularly adept at tracking down hard to find, obscure and foreign wind band titles, as well as finding the hidden gems amongst all the hundreds of new wind band works published each year. He also directs a local community band, BandTogether, during the year.

Jim Kerfoot – Band and Solo / Ensemble Specialist 

Jim Kerfoot is Jeff’s right hand man and brings over a decade of experience with instrumental music sales with him to the store.  One of Jim’s monumental tasks includes the organizing of thousands of solo / ensemble pieces that are on the Texas, Florida, and Missouri state lists.

Dick Boyd – Choral Specialist

Dick Boyd brings over 40 years of experience of working with choral music at Shattinger Music to our store. He has been a soloist and principal singer with several well-known area choral groups, including the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, American Kantorei and Bach Society of St. Louis.  He received his BA in Music Ed from McKendree College. He was also Bass Section leader of the 7th Army Soldier’s Chorus in Heidelberg, Germany for 3 years. He is starting his 41st year as choir director at First United Methodist Church in Lebanon, IL . In his spare time he teaches voice at home.

Kevin Koontz – Vocal/Choral/Piano Specialist 

Kevin’s experience and knowledge comes from over thirty years of teaching choral music in area middle and high schools while also singing in some of the vocal organizations and church choirs such as Opera Theater of St. Louis, The Muny,  St. Louis Symphony Chorus, Masterworks Chorale, and most recently St. Louis Chamber Chorus.

Ann Geiler – String specialist

Ann has been a public school string educator for 27 years. She is past president of the Missouri Chapter of the American String Teachers Association.  Ann is a cellist and has been organizing the Midwest Sheet Music Reading Sessions for the past 8 years.
