Trumpet Overture from "The Indian Queen"

$9.00

Henry Purcell, Ed Hirschman

This work is from the semi-opera “The Indian Queen,” which had it’s first performance in London in 1695, the year of Purcell’s death. Here it is arranged for Organ and Piccolo Trumpet in A (an alternate D Trumpet part is available below). This piece is absolutely perfect for wedding ceremonies and I have used it for that purpose many times. The work can be heard scored for trumpet, strings and harpsichord on the recording succinctly titled “Wynton Marsalis Plays Handel, Purcell, Torelli, Fasch, and Molter.”

PDF download includes organ part, and part for trumpets in C, D, and A Piccolo,
