Written in the style of its namesake, this easy swing tune features the trombone section and saxes on the melody with trumpet punctuations. Solos are written out and include chord changes, and the trumpets get to switch to cup mutes in one of the background sections before opening up for the shout chorus. Here is an excellent opportunity to show off your ensemble's dynamic range with a pianissimo "shout" chorus, building through the second eight bars to a sax soli bridge and returning to the main theme to finish out the chart with the classic Basie piano ending.
