The three dances are based on the traditional wassail songs of, respectively, Somerset, Yorkshire and Gloucestershire. These dances were commissioned and first performed by the Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra in 1973. (NOTE: Wassail Dances 3. is the same composition as Cotswold Dances 5, so if ordering one it is not necessary to order the other.)
