Allegro Deciso is an energetic piece requiring good technique from all players, numerous timbre changes, and a nice challenge for the conductor. Grade level is a 6 with the piece running 8'25". Alex Millet was born in Paris, where he studied classical piano from the age of seven and then harmony and counterpoint. He is a graduate of the Conservatoire National de RÈgion d'Issy-les-Moulineaux. After some years studying French horn, he turned to jazz piano and played in numerous Parisian clubs with various groups. After composing a few scores for short films, he turned back to concert music. He has lived in Chicago for three years and pursues composing for orchestra, band and chamber ensembles. On the Virginia list, Grade VI.
