This is Chopin’s familiar piano nocturne reimagined as a jazz waltz. After the statement of the melody, a brief unaccompanied ensemble winds section in harmony leads into the solo section. The sax section also performs harmonized interludes in places. The solo is in the 1st alto. It is written-out with chord changes. There are some interesting 4-over-three rhythmic effects and a rollicking shout chorus to end the number.
