Tsuneto Kitaura

This is an arrangement for alto saxophone and piano of the original piano solo piece that was composed in 2005 as the theme song of the TV drama "Tantei of my heart."This arrangement was written with a three-part structure, with the first part comprising the section from the opening to the 17th bar, the second part from the piano solo in the 18th bar to the 27th bar, and the third part from the recapitulation of the theme in the 28th bar to the final bar. The saxophone depicts a slightly sentimental and nostalgic motif in the first part, before the piano takes over in the second part to look back on various things that have disappeared with the passage of time. Finally, in the third part, the piano and saxophone come together to present the theme again in unison."The Encounter of Destiny" portrays the way in which human beings experience countless encounters and farewells in the course of our lives. However, if we think about this on the scale of our universe, the chance that we meet a certain person is no more than one in hundreds of millions, or perhaps even one in infinity. If we keep that in mind, we will appreciate how precious each and every encounter and farewell is.
