Masanori Fukuda

This piece was composed in 2019 for a mid/lower-range brass ensemble.Overall, the piece utilizes a combination of contemporary musical harmony and tonality. It opens with a fanfare that features contemporary harmony, which is followed by the euphonium playing tonal phrases that give rise to a beautiful "hymn." After an intense section written in a contemporary style and played at a high tempo, the piece finally closes with a powerful coda following a recapitulation of the "hymn."This piece was arranged for a quintet in 2020, and its performance won the third place at the 1st Japan Brass Band Ensemble National Championships in 2020.
