"Daphnis and Chloe" is one of the most beautiful pieces of orchestral music. The first time I heard this delicate work performed in a brass band was at the 1976 All Japan Wind Band Competition (Kanagawa Prefectural Hall) by Izumo Municipal Daiichi Junior High School. increase. However, due to the extremely high degree of difficulty in playing, including the woodwind 12-note tuplet at the beginning, and the fact that it is a work with a large number of instruments, only a small number of groups were able to perform it. .
However, after that, in addition to the improvement of performance techniques, the number of players in brass band competitions was changed, and instruments called special tubes gradually became popular, and the conditions for performing this work were in place. Therefore, in response to such changes, I arranged "Dawn" and "Everyone's Dance" with the idea that it would be possible to perform in a group of about 50 people. It was performed at the All Japan Brass Band Competition. After that, it was continued to be revised through performances by the Saitama Prefectural Omiya High School Brass Band and the Natori Symphony Wind Orchestra, and the complete version including "Pantomime" was completed.

In the arrangement, as mentioned above, the special tubes are replaced so that it can be performed by about 50 people, and the percussion instruments are partly omitted from the original. Also, the chorus part, which plays an important role, is played by several wind instruments. Therefore, when performing, please refer to the orchestra score and make appropriate changes according to the actual situation of each group.
