Hirokazu FUKUSHIMA

This piece was commissioned by a high school in Gunma Prefecture as a piece to be performed by the participants of a joint concert that was held in April 2020.

The title of this piece is "Audeamus," which means "to walk together" or "to fight together" in Latin. This title was proposed by the teacher who had organized the concert with the hope that all of us can come together and fight hard to overcome the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

As suggested above, the piece consists of a dark and intense first half that evokes the feeling of taking on the challenges around us and a more optimistic and peaceful second half, where these difficulties have been overcome. Please try to create tension for the intense sections in the first half, and go for a warmer and expansive feel for the second half.

Although I have composed this piece for a large band like the one at the joint concert, it can also be performed by a small to medium-sized band of 20 to 30 members.PLEASE NOTE - This item is sold on a rental basis.
