The word “essey” in the title of this piece refers to prose writing or a collection of thoughts unconstrained by form that brings together the writer’s impressions, thoughts, and ideas based on his personal experience. Performers can interpret this piece as a work that brings together my personal thoughts on wind orchestra music.

This piece consolidates my day-to-day thoughts on wind orchestra music, including the development of motifs, the harmony between chords, the orchestration of pieces, etc.

This piece features the clarinet's phrase in the opening and the saxophone's reply in Bar 31 as its key motifs, which are then gradually developed as the rhythm and tempo change.
The clarinet's motif in the opening can be easily played in a highly expressive and musically rich manner, so please try to play it by drawing on your own imagination. The saxophone's motif that begins in Bar 31 is a powerful, fanfare-like motif that features leaping notes. Please try your best to perform this by paying attention to maintaining stability amid the dynamism and to the harmony created by these leaping notes.
