This is probably the piece that comes to mind for many people when “My Hero Academia” is mentioned.
Written as the main theme of the series, its composer Yuki Hayashi had said, “This piece expresses Izuku’s feelings. It opens in a subdued way and captures his turbulent emotions, such as his desire to become a hero and his struggles. The moment Izuku starts running, he is focused entirely on becoming a hero, a feeling that this piece emphatically gives voice to with both its melody and rhythm.”

Although the piece opens in a rather quiet manner, make sure its energy is not compromised. While the tension remains high from B onward, it is a good idea to create the appropriate emphasis by paying attention to the shifts in the instruments playing the melody. If you can develop an awareness of how the different sounds created by the instruments playing the same melody blend together, you will be able to muster the perfect sound. The drum set does not have to adhere strictly to the notation.
