Saxophone Quartet.
Nicolas Herrouët is the baritone of the saxophone quartet Quatuor Ellipsos and has arranged a wealth of material for the group, covering classical to jazz to world music. His arrangement of the classic Albéniz sets a frantic, driving pace that works its way to the central piu lento section. After a moment of divine harmonic work, and drawing a breath, the quartet is off again on a mad dash to the end. Asturias requires tight coordination among the players, but the result is pure pleasure.
