From the Count Basie book of the '60s, this straight ahead blues swings with a sax section soli after the head. Features trumpet and tenor solos and two out-choruses of typical Basie ensemble finishing up. Includes guest tenor solo, but is optional. Recorded by Manhattan School of Music. For many years facsimile copies of Frank Foster's score and parts were reproduced and published by Walrus Music Publishing. This edition has been carefully prepared and engraved from these parts. Several note errors that were found in the original set of parts have been corrected as well. Articulations and dynamics that reflect the Count Basie Band interpretation have been included so that this arrangement may be faithfully reproduced. This would make a great festival piece or concert opener/closer!
