This 4 movement, 15 minute, Grade 5 Suite for piano and wind ensemble is Matt Klohs' first major work and was premiered in 2017 in Australia by the Royal Australian Navy Band and in the USA by Columbia University Wind Ensemble. It is an emotional journey through the life and loss of a young boy, Dylan Jessop, whose life journey was cut short by San Fillipo Syndrome, a rare and degenerative condition. Dylan's joy, hope and love were examples to all who knew him, and the courage of his parents was incredible. It is piano-based programmatic music and journeys through hope, grief, courage, playfulness and celebration as the work emerges.
