6 Horns; Wagner transcriptions always seem to be ideal for Horn choir. This is no exception. The Tristan Fantasy is based on some fragments of Wagner's opera, "Tristan and Isolde". Since Wagner asked for doubling or tripling of the Horn parts in the hunting fanfare, one can play this arrangement with 6, 12, 18, or even more Horn players.
