As part of Series A of the The Complete Works of Henryk Wieniawski, PWM Edition releases this work for violin with piano accompaniment, another pièce de salon. Wieniawski composed this piece at the age of seventeen, during a Russian concert tour with his brother, pianist Józef. Its melody is akin to that of a melancholic Russian dumka or a Gypsy romance.
