Vaclav Nelhybel

Percussive, rhythmic, punctuated with strong articulations, this work epitomizes the Nelhybel style - the use of percussive and rhythmic snare drum and timpani, the lower brass theme with fanfare-like trumpets and decorative woodwinds, and the piece is energetic yet stoical in nature. A short middle section at a slower tempo follows but quickly resumes to the opening tempo and style. The piece ends with the same strong motif.
