Peters is a medium-advanced four-mallet marimba solo providing the performer with a variety of technical challenges. The harmonic and melodic language in the piece allows for a variety of body and mallet positioning that encourages the performer to move around the instrument. Peters frequently employs a split-manual melodic line achieved through double lateral or single independent strokes while maintaining a consistent left hand bass line throughout. While the piece requires technical precision and physical coordination, Peters has packaged it in a modern, syncopated feel that will surely please both the performer and audience members.
